About the Dish
Rum Balls, also known as Romkugler or Truffle Balls, is traditionally a Goan delicacy. They were invented by Danish bakers because there were some leftovers from the sales for the day. So, they then assembled all the Danish pastry and cakes and mixed it with cocoa powder and rum. The sticky dough was rolled into small balls and coated with coconut flakes. This recipe changed when it spread in different countries. Our chef makes it with her traditional recipe where she covers the balls with melted chocolate.
How to Eat
The rum balls are dense, heavy, and have a rich chocolate taste. You could eat it straight out of the refrigerator as the chocolate covering may start to melt. It is usually served as a dessert after a heavy meal.
