About the Dish
Chiroti, also known as Chirote or Cheeroti, is a Maharashtrian sweet, that has a similar texture to Oriya delicacy, Khaja. It’s a popular sweet in Maharashtra, Karnataka, and some parts of Telangana. Chirote, also called Pheni or Peni in Telangana, mostly gains demand during festivals like Diwali and special occasions like weddings. Our chef uses her family recipe, which makes this dish authentic and tasty, and interestingly, absorbs less oil, despite deep frying it.
How to Eat
You can eat it without any accompaniments as its a sweet treat. It can be enjoyed at room temperature and can be stored for a few days. It's a crunchy sweet that can be eaten as a dessert or as an evening snack.
