Balushahi is a Hyderabadi dessert which consists of refined flour dipped in sugar syrup. Also known as Badusha, it’s a popular sweet in India, especially the Eastern region, i.e. Bihar and West Bengal. Balushahi is similar to the doughnuts from the Western cuisine, however, is one of the oldest delicacies in India. It’s usually popular during wedding ceremonies or festivals like Diwali but is available throughout the year.
