Gehu Kheer is a traditional Maharashtrian dessert. Basically, this is whole cracked wheat pudding. Generally, wheat is soaked and then pounded. Jaggery is then added. It is then flavoured with nutmeg, saffron, and cardamom. At the end, slivers of dry fruits like almond, pista and cashews are added. It can be served hot or cold as a full meal itself.
