Rum cake is a type of dessert cake that contains rum. It is a holiday season dessert, especially during Christmas. It is a cultural cake made at the time of Christmas in the Caribbean. Traditionally, dried fruits are soaked in rum for weeks or months and added to a dough that is prepared with sugar caramelized in boiling water. Our chef includes a generous amount of raisins, cherries, almonds, and tutti frutti.

The cake is moist inside and is a little heavy to eat. We advise you to heat a portion of the cake in the microwave for a few seconds just before consumption; however, you can still enjoy the cake at room temperature. If you don’t want to eat it as a dessert, you can enjoy the cake as a snack as well.
