Description
Gajar Ka Halwa, also known as gajorer halua or gajar pak, first originated in the Mughal period. The name came from the Arabic word, Halwa, which translates to ‘sweet’. Gajar ka halwa was thought to be a Punjabi dish but it is still not clear. The dish originally consisted of three ingredients, carrots, milk, and ghee, and this old recipe was collecting dust for many years. However, today it is a popular dessert in India and since it contains carrots, it has its benefits. Carrots are rich in Vitamin A, C, and K, fiber, and helps improve eyesight.
