Handvo, also known as Vegetable cake, is a Gujarati delicacy that is nutritious and can be enjoyed any time. It’s a nutritious and savoury cake that contains toor, chana, moong, and urad dal with the goodness of vegetables. Handvo has some variations according to different regions but with the use of simple ingredients it has an amazing taste. Because of the lentils, handvo is rich in proteins, high in fiber, it’s easy to digest, and an excellent source of folic acid.

How to Eat

The dish is supposed to be enjoyed hot with some chutney and is garnished with some tadka on top of handvo. The handvo is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside which makes it a perfect companion with some hot beverage. It can be eaten either at breakfast or as an evening snack.
