Shankarpale, also known as shakkarpara, khurma, or lakhto, is a popular sweet snack in the Western part of India. People, traditionally, enjoy this sweet during Diwali as part of ‘Diwali Faral’. Shankarpali is has a lot of carbohydrates, making it a good source of energy and has a long shelf-life. With the use of a few ingredients, it’s sweet delicacy that you have to try anytime, whether it is Diwali or not.

How to Eat

These mini-treats are crunchy and are supposed to be enjoyed hot or at room temperature. The sweet taste of Shankapale can be enjoyed as a snack in the evening with some hot beverage, or could be eaten at breakfast with accompaniments like chiwda.
