About the Dish

Bhakosa is an Uttar Pradeshi delicacy that consists of the goodness of various dal and taste of masalas. Also known as Dal Pitha or Chana Dal Fara, it’s a traditional North Indian snack. Bhakosa is a crescent-shaped savoury snack that consists of flour covering and a filling of various ground pulses mixed with spices. Our chef uses her family’s style of cooking this dish as its first steamed and then fried. The snack, although available year-round, is popular during Karva Chauth and is a must-have in this festival.

How to Eat

Enjoy this tea-time snack with some sweet and sour imli chutney. Bhakosa has a soft filling inside and a crispy filling outside, making it a unique snack. This dish is supposed to be enjoyed hot and is very less spicy. It can be eaten in the evening with a hot beverage of your choice with your loved ones.
